Music is an echo of its time – a channel for dreams and sorrows, a witness to passions that shaped lives and ambitions that steered history. These soundscapes show what moved societies, what brought people together and what remained beyond reach. An homage to the 100th year anniversary of the Turkish Republic, Müzik TR100 paints a musical panorama of Turkish history, bringing together the songs that have shaped the nation’s collective memory over the past century.
This strikingly red collector’s set curates 165 iconic tracks by 165 artists, each leaving an indelible mark on their time. By presenting these songs in the most authentic listening formats (14 vinyl records, 4 CDs, 1 cassette, and digital access via QR codes) it offers a true-to-era experience. Accompanied by a carefully crafted catalog that tells the stories behind the music, each set is individually numbered and produced in limited quantities. Müzik TR100 is more than an anthology; it is an invitation to rediscover, experience, and celebrate Türkiye’s rich musical and cultural legacy.

The Challenge
The 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye was a major focal point for corporations across the nation, with most institutions launching projects to underscore their place in this historic milestone. As a result, there was a flood of centennial initiatives. Our challenge was to cut through the noise and position this legacy project in a way that was both striking and enduring. The narrative needed to be compelling and aspirational, capturing the significance of our musical legacy without veering into excessive sentimentality. Additionally, with each of the ten decades represented in a different format, our goal was to create a cohesive design system that honored the unique DNA of each era while maintaining a unified visual identity.

Our Approach
We drew inspiration from the zeros in the century and decades, transforming them into kaleidoscopic forms. Each circular design featured objects and musical instruments emblematic of its respective era, symbolizing how cultural touchpoints emerge from an intricate interplay of values and realities. Our bold color palette—red, black, white, and silver—gave the box set a distinctly national identity while preserving a sense of modern sophistication. After all, this project is a retrospective, reflecting on a century of music through the lens of today. To complement this vision, we designed a custom box system that unfolds to reveal individual compartments for each decade, creating a structured yet immersive experience.
